How You Support Students
OTC SLPs deliver therapy and guidance in these key areas:
- Language & Cognitive Communication Supporting comprehension, expression, memory, flexible thinking, and classroom participation
- Pragmatic Language & Social Interaction Helping students build authentic connections and navigate peer relationships
- Speech & Fluency Improving clarity, motor planning, and supporting fluency with sensitivity to individual differences
- Voice & Auditory Processing Promoting healthy vocal use and improving listening comprehension
- Feeding & Swallowing (as appropriate) Ensuring safety and confidence in eating and drinking
- Neuroaffirming Practice Prioritizing self-advocacy, authentic communication, and inclusion over conformity to “norms”
