When we were established in 1979, our focus was the provision of occupational therapy services. We have evolved into a multidisciplinary team of occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech language pathologists.

Now in our second quarter century, OTC's practice continues its dynamic evolution. We provide services in a variety of settings with a major focus in developmental disabilities. The settings include early intervention in a child’s natural environment, pediatric services at OTC's Clinic at Somerset, community based programs addressing the needs of adults with developmental disabilities, long-term care/rehabilitation environments, and public, private and state schools where we utilize an educationally related approach.

OTC's Clinic at Somerset was established more than 12 years ago in response to Central New Jersey's increasing need for specialized therapy services for children from birth to 21 years of age. We offer occupational, physical, speech/language therapy for children with learning difficulties, developmental delays and sensory integration problems. When appropriate, therapists collaborate with the child's educational team to enable carryover of effective strategies into the school environment. In Northern and Central New Jersey, our therapists work collaboratively with facility staff in varied community settings. As an integral part of each site team, OTC staff help achieve effective outcomes for clients requiring therapy services.

Staff keeps abreast of important professional information through ongoing in-services and workshops. Our comprehensive library adds an additional professional resource and a venue for parent information.
OTC staff is recognized at local, state, national and international levels for professional expertise. We provide programs for community groups, religious organizations, community childcare programs, public and private schools and universities. Professional conferences sponsored by local, statewide, national and international organizations have also called upon OTC staff to share their expertise.
